Blueberry Shrimp

 

The Blueberry shrimp is of neocaridina palmata, originating from Southern China, this shrimp is commonly kept and bred in the hobby especially in Germany and has been derived into several variations, including red, green, blue, brown, and purple (the image shown above is a wild form). It shares the same hardiness and fertility as its neocaridina heteropoda cousins, i.e. the Red Cherry Shrimp, and will interbreed readily with the other species.
