The Blue Bee is a fairly recent find in the hobby, discovered in China in 2008. Breeders have reported success cross breeding this species to Caridina Cantonensis, though its technicaly classification is a of the Paracaradina genus. The Blue Bee has proved to be a very adaptable species, with breeders having success in high pH and high TDS environments.
Blue Bees vary in coloration, from light to dark blue. Not all blue bees are blue, some color may vary from brown, red, to a purple-ish hue, depending on the shrimp’s genetics, stress, and the water conditions.
